Gluten Free Review - diagnosed with severe gluten intolerance. (FYI: I do tell places that I have celiac disease since it tends to be taken more seriously than "gluten intolerance". This was recommended by a dietitian and a medical doctor since my symptoms present like the disease.) My gluten eating husband and I dined at Steve's in March 2025. We sat by the windows (recommend!) and our server was great! With regards to GF, there aren't any designations on the menus for entrees/apps that are "naturally" gluten free. The server stated that they should/can be able to make any dish gluten free and seemed knowledgeable about the menu. I went with the rack of lamb with a baked potato and veggies and it was so so so good. Drinks were delicious as well! My constructive thoughts: It would be more reassuring if there were some items labeled GF. I didn't want to ask about the entire menu since I feel like I'm annoying the server (this would be at any restaurant). I always try to get whatever seems most likely to be "naturally" gluten free since the chefs are busy and I, personally, don't want to be the person asking for a gluten dish to be made gluten free. It has to be annoying and there is still a risk of that dish accidentally getting mucked up. Thanks to Steve's for offering a dining experience that was beautiful and delicious! Hope this review helps the people who have to be gluten free.

Incredible! Everything..from the service, decor, to the quality of food..I ordered the Filet Mignon and it was an absolute love affair..when I ordered medium rare, it was that! Truly made my night!

This place was amazing. From the cute music selection to the food to the service! I am very picky with Micheladas this one was YUM! I'll probably dream about the scallops and fillet mignon, the taste was the best I've ever had. The seasoning on the fillet mignon was perfect!!! I wish I could recreate it at home, but I know I'll never come close. Lastly, a big shout out to Johnny! He was hilarious, attentive and just very kind. He didn't have to warn us about boat cancelations, but thanks to him we made it back home. Thank you Johnny for creating a memorable birthday for me! Definitely will be back!

Best Restaurant on the Island! Amazingly good food. Absolutely the best Ponzu Scallop appetizer suggested by our waiter Jon Q. Dinner was phenomenal as well. I had Sea Bass and it was so tender and tasty with the lemon caper sauce. Jonny Q was an amazing waiter! We will be back!!!

Great food, great service, great spot... Nothing short of a GREAT time. Decorated nicely and situated along the beach. I will be back - just wish that their hours are updated more often (they were closed for renovations, then closed during some season... hard to keep track). Once you adjust to island time, do not hesitate to visit.

After a long day in the sun and having fun on the island the group was craving some protein and we ended up at the steaks house which if you don't pay attention it's upstairs and you got to take stairs in what almost feels like another restaurant that's downstairs lol but anyways the place was great They had some live music and the owners were awesome and attentive and helpful I had some of the best clam chowder it was awesome I also had a ribeye and was cooked great! They also have seating outside across on the beach which is awesome didn't know this!

We were there on a Friday night with a huge group for a friend's birthday, and they were patient and wonderfully accommodating. The coconut shrimp is delicious as an appetizer, as are their fried artichokes. My partner got the wedge salad and I got the butternut squash ravioli with tomato cream sauce (the sauce was solid). The restaurant is on the waterfront, but upstairs. Pretty bustling inside.

Went for dinner on weekday night and was very pleased. The service was impeccable. The seating was super comfortable and the decor was nice. Great red wine (can't remember the brand or type). They charge for the bread, but it's well worth it. Wasn't in the mood for red meat, so I got the salmon with a baked potato. It made for a boring plate presentation, but it tasted very good. I saw a post where someone wanted ice water, not bottled water. Bottled water is just an island thing since the drought started years ago, but you can ask for a cup of ice with your bottled water though.

Steve's is a great family owned and operated steakhouse in Avalon, Catalina Island. Steve brings your drinks out and his son is a server. You feel right at home with their smiling faces and jovial demeanor. The food is great too. I had a Cesar salad and lobster tail dinner. I forgot to take pics of the lobster, but you don't need a pic to know that it hit the spot. Oh I almost forgot I ordered the baked potato with cheese, sour cream, bacon, and chives. The night was flawless and I just might have got lucky because of that dinner. Thanks for the great memories Steve's.
